Ex- NFL star Antonio Brown is returning to Miami to confront an murder attempt allegation related to a gunfire that took place in May, with his attorney submitting a not guilty declaration on his behalf.

Detention documents in Essex County, New Jersey, reveal that Brown was discharged on Tuesday early for his relocation to the state of Florida. Brown, one of the most popular figures in the National Football League, had relinquished extradition to Florida from New Jersey, where he was held after being apprehended in the city of Dubai.

Brown’s attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, stated in an message that he has already filed a written not guilty declaration to the murder attempt charge. Brown could be in a Miami hearing as soon as Wednesday early for a bail session, Eiglarsh added.

Based on his arrest document, Brown is alleged of grabbing a firearm from a safety staffer after a celebrity boxing event in May and shooting two shots at a person he had confronted with before. The claimed victim, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, informed authorities that one of the bullets grazed his neck.

Eiglarsh asserted that Brown was simply safeguarding himself from Nantambu.

“The steps he was forced to take were solely in self-defense against the alleged person’s aggressive actions. Brown was targeted that night and responded within his rightful entitlement to protect himself,” Eiglarsh stated.

Brown was not immediately arrested because initially officers did not consider Nantambu as a victim. It wasn’t until later in May that Nantambu provided a detailed testimony about the incident to officers and named Brown as the shooter, the affidavit says.

From his social media content, Brown had been residing in Dubai for several period. In a post after the confrontation, Brown claimed he was protecting himself because he was “jumped by numerous individuals who tried to rob my possessions and bring bodily harm to me.”

A category two attempted murder allegation in the state of Florida imposes a utmost 15-year prison sentence and up to a ten thousand dollar penalty in the case of a guilty verdict.

Brown has encountered numerous legal challenges over the period. He previously had been accused of physical attack of a truck employee, multiple domestic violence accusations, failure to pay family payments and further events.

During a recent contest with Tampa Bay against the opponents, Brown removed his uniform, equipment and gloves and exited the arena, leading to his termination by the franchise and virtually ending his NFL journey.
